The tourism sector in Ambon Island faces major challenges due to the high risk of natural disasters threatening destination sustainability and security. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of disaster mitigation strategies in strengthening the resilience of Ambon Island’s tourism sector. The research employed a mixed-methods approach, including quantitative surveys with local communities and tourists, in-depth interviews with stakeholders, and field observations at main tourist sites. Findings indicate that integrating disaster-resilient infrastructure, preparedness education, and early warning technologies has enhanced destination readiness and increased tourist confidence. Collaborative efforts among government, communities, and the private sector effectively accelerate post-disaster recovery. This study presents an adaptive and inclusive disaster mitigation-based tourism management model. Practical implications highlight the need for stronger cross-sectoral synergy, continuous training, and adoption of digital technologies in mitigation strategies, ensuring Ambon tourism remains resilient amid disaster threats.
