Publication Ethics
Hatunuku: Jurnal Pendidikan IPS is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and adheres to the ethical guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in the publishing process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to act with integrity and transparency.
1. Duties of Authors
-
Authors must ensure their work is original, properly cited, and has not been published elsewhere or submitted simultaneously to other journals.
-
Data presented must be accurate and authentic. Falsification or fabrication is strictly prohibited.
-
All sources and influences must be clearly acknowledged.
-
All individuals who contributed significantly should be listed as co-authors; others should be appropriately acknowledged.
-
Authors must promptly notify the editor if a significant error is discovered after submission or publication.
2. Duties of Editors
-
Editors are responsible for the final decision on manuscript acceptance, guided by the reviewers’ comments and academic merit.
-
Editors must evaluate manuscripts objectively, without discrimination based on race, gender, ethnicity, religion, citizenship, or political beliefs.
-
Editors must maintain confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and must not use unpublished materials for personal research.
3. Duties of Reviewers
-
Reviewers must provide constructive, honest, and timely feedback based on academic and scientific merit.
-
Reviewers must disclose any potential conflict of interest and recuse themselves if necessary.
-
All review comments must be respectful and focused on content, not on the author personally.
-
Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and not use any part of the manuscript for personal gain.
4. Duties of the Publisher
-
The publisher supports the editorial team in maintaining publishing integrity and addressing misconduct.
-
The publisher ensures availability, long-term archiving, and accessibility of published content.
-
In case of proven misconduct (e.g., plagiarism, unethical research), the publisher will work with the editorial board to issue retractions or corrections as necessary.
