Plagiarism Policy

Hatunuku: Jurnal Pendidikan IPS is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and strictly prohibits any form of plagiarism. The following outlines our policy regarding plagiarism:

  1. Definition of Plagiarism
    Plagiarism includes but is not limited to:

    • Copying text, ideas, data, or images from other sources without proper citation.

    • Paraphrasing substantial parts of another person’s work without acknowledgment.

    • Submitting a previously published work (self-plagiarism) without disclosure or permission.

    • Using AI-generated content without transparency or citation, where applicable.

  2. Screening Process
    All submitted manuscripts are checked for plagiarism using similarity detection software such as Turnitin or iThenticate.
    The similarity index must be below 20% (excluding references and commonly used phrases) to proceed to the review stage.

  3. Actions in Case of Plagiarism
    If plagiarism is detected, the editorial board will take the following actions:

    • Minor plagiarism (<10%): Authors will be required to revise the content.

    • Moderate plagiarism (10–30%): Manuscript will be returned for major revision or may be rejected.

    • Severe plagiarism (>30%): Manuscript will be rejected immediately and the author(s) may be blacklisted.

  4. Post-Publication Discovery
    If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the article will be retracted, and a retraction notice will be issued. The authors' institutions may be informed depending on the severity.

  5. Author Responsibility
    Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are free from plagiarism. Proper citation and ethical use of sources are mandatory in all parts of the manuscript.
