This study aims to describe the process of intercultural communication in the tujuh bulanan tradition in Kampung Baru Hamlet, Marbau District, North Labuhanbatu Regency, and to analyze its symbolic meanings and Islamic communication perspective. Kampung Baru Hamlet is a multiethnic area dominated by Javanese and Batak Mandailing communities. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, and data validity was maintained through source and technique triangulation. The findings show that the tujuh bulanan tradition serves as a space for social interaction that strengthens relationships among residents from different cultural backgrounds. Interethnic communication takes place through gotong royong, ritual dialogue, and communal prayer. Verbal meanings are found in Islamic prayers and ritual dialogue, while nonverbal meanings are reflected in symbols such as water from seven wells, the ivory coconut (kelapa gading), and seven layers of cloth. From an Islamic communication perspective, the tradition reflects the values of ukhuwah, silaturahmi, and ta'awun, as evidenced by residents' involvement in the preparation, execution, and closing of the event. The tradition represents a harmonious acculturation of local culture and Islamic values, upholding the principle of qaulan ma'rufan and gratitude to Allah SWT.
