The development of modern fashion trends encourages the presence of clothing styles that not only follow global trends, but also elevate local cultural identity. Chic style is a style that emphasizes simplicity, neatness, and an elegant impression that is easy to apply in everyday life. The work entitled "Style chic with pariangan batik" this fashion design aims to implement the chic style in the processing of Pariangan Batik as a form of preserving the culture of the Minangkabau region. The chic style is realized in the form of blazers, skirts, obibelts, and layered skirts. The color choices are red, cream, and black. The materials used are bridal satin, American drill, oxford, tille and pariangan batik. The process of realizing the sewing of the clothes uses semi-boutique techniques and sequin embroidery techniques. The works created are three levels of ready-to-wear clothing, ready-to-wear deluxe, and haute couture. These clothes can be used for parties and fashion shows. The resulting work is expected to be an innovative alternative in introducing regional batik to the wider community, especially in the fashion market segment that follows the development of chic styles.
