Penerapan Model Inquiry Learning Untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Siswa Sekolah Dasar Negeri 27 Banda Aceh

Abstract

The critical thinking skills of students of SD Negeri 27 Banda Aceh are not optimal, so it is necessary to make efforts to improve students' critical thinking skills through the Inquiry Learning model. This study aims to determine whether the application of the inquiry learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills in the subject of Civics and to determine how students respond to learning the inquiry model in the subject of Civics class II A SDN Banda Aceh. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one group pretest posttest design. The population of this study were all students of class II. Sampling was determined using a purposive sampling technique, so that class IIA was determined as a sample with a total of 27 students. Data collection was carried out through tests, namely the initial test and the final test. The collected data were analyzed using statistical tests (t-test). The results of the study showed that the application of the inquiry learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills in the subject of Civics as indicated by an increase in the average value, namely the pretest value of 42.17 increased to 66 after treatment. These results are also strengthened by the results of the hypothesis test, namely the calculated t-value> t-table value 20.06> 1.71). Thus, there is an increase in students' critical thinking skills with the application of the Inquiry Learning model on the material of regulations around me of class II students of SDN 27 Banda Aceh. Students responded well to the use of the inquiry learning model in the PKN subject of class II SDN 27 Banda Aceh, namely 41% strongly agree, 41% agree and the remaining 18% feel less agree with the application of the inquiry learning model.
